Memorial service held for Neo Chorio heroes

On Sunday, November 1, 2026, a national memorial service was held at the Holy Church of Saint Minas in Neo Chorio to honor the local heroes Vasos Panagis, Georgios Anastasi, and Georgios Stylianou. The event served to pay tribute to their sacrifices for the country's freedom.

The ceremony was marked by an address from the Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Emmanouil Theodorou, who emphasized the necessity of preserving historical memory and honoring those who fought for national independence. Following his speech, local authorities and citizens participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the heroes' monument as an act of gratitude and respect.
