Cypriot football league and cup match updates

Between October 31 and November 3, 2026, several key football matches took place in Cyprus across different tournaments. On October 31, Omonia and AEL faced off in a derby at GSP Stadium. By November 1, focus shifted to other fixtures, including Anorthosis playing against Aris in Limassol, and APOEL playing against Omonia Aradippou at the Arena, where APOEL player Sastre was sent off within the first 30 seconds of the match. Simultaneously, Omonia 29M secured a victory against Nea Salamina.

On November 3, AEL returned to the Alphamega Stadium for a cup match against Iraklis Gerolakkou. The team, coached by Hugo Martins, has been under pressure to improve defensive performance following a streak of losses and a record of 15 goals conceded. The coaching staff is currently focused on tactical adjustments and rotating the squad to recover from recent setbacks, with player Jovetic notably absent from the cup squad.
