Andreas Kazazis, co-founder of Athienou bakeries, passes away

Andreas Kazazis, a prominent Cypriot businessman and co-founder of the 'Adelfoi Kazazi' company, has died. A central figure in the local bakery sector, he was recognized for his significant contributions to the promotion and widespread popularity of the famous traditional Athienou bread. Due to his dedication to local entrepreneurship and culinary heritage, he was officially honored by the Municipality of Athienou and the Bakers' Association in 2023.

The funeral service for the deceased will take place on Monday, November 2, 2026, at 15:00 at the Panagia Chryseleousa Church in Athienou. The family will receive condolences at the church beginning at 14:30. The Athienou Bakers' Association has expressed its deep sorrow for the loss of one of its founding members, noting that his absence leaves a significant void in the professional community of Cyprus.
