Cyprus Deputy Minister for Research to attend Plug and Play summit in California

Cyprus Deputy Minister for Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, Dr. Nikodimos Damianou, is traveling to the United States on Monday, November 2, 2026. He has been invited by the international innovation network Plug and Play to participate in the Silicon Valley Winter Summit, taking place in California from November 3 to 5, 2026. The Minister is accompanied by the Director General of the Research and Innovation Foundation, Theodoros Loukaidis.

The primary objective of this visit is to promote Cyprus as a regional hub for technology and innovation. By strengthening the international outreach of the local ecosystem, the government aims to foster new business and investment partnerships with American stakeholders. During the summit, Dr. Damianou is scheduled to meet with the founder and CEO of Plug and Play, Saeed Amidi.

The discussions will focus on expanding the existing cooperation with the organization. Specifically, officials seek to leverage the global network of Plug and Play to better connect Cypriot startups and innovative companies with international investors and resources, thereby accelerating the growth of the nation's innovation sector.
