Police investigate Limassol Halloween party after mass underage drinking and injury
A Halloween party held at a beachfront venue in Limassol on Saturday night, October 31, has resulted in a police investigation after 13 minors aged 15 to 17 required medical treatment. Attendees reported that teenagers were vomiting, dizzy, and unable to stand due to excessive alcohol consumption, including vodka. Reports indicate that organizers had misled parents by promising a venue that would not serve alcohol, only to move the event at the last minute to a club where alcohol was readily available to minors.
In addition to the intoxication cases, a 16-year-old attendee was hospitalized at Makarios Hospital in Nicosia with a fractured skull. Police are currently investigating whether the injury was the result of a fall amid the crowded conditions or a physical altercation. Deputy police chief Lefteris Kyriakou confirmed that statements have been taken from parents and minors, and authorities are preparing to question the organizers and the venue operator. Officials stated that no proper age verification was conducted at the entrance, and criminal charges are expected once the investigation concludes.
