Thirteen teenagers hospitalized following alcohol consumption at Limassol Halloween party
On the night of Saturday, October 31, 2026, a Halloween party held at a beachfront venue in Limassol resulted in the hospitalization of 13 teenagers aged 15 to 17. The minors required medical assistance after consuming excessive amounts of alcohol, with symptoms including dizziness, vomiting, and headaches. Among the injured, a 16-year-old boy was transferred to the Makarios Hospital in Nicosia to be treated for a fractured skull following a fall, while the other 12 students were discharged by Monday.
Police investigations reveal that organizers deceived parents by stating the event would occur at a different location where alcohol would not be served. Instead, the venue was changed to a nightclub where alcohol was readily available to the underage guests. Authorities have launched a formal inquiry into the organizers, focusing on charges of illegal admission of minors to a nightclub and the unlawful sale of alcoholic beverages to individuals under the legal age.
Limassol Assistant Police Director Lefteris Kyriakou confirmed that detectives have already taken statements from parents and students to establish liability. While the initial medical crisis has been resolved, police continue to gather evidence to identify all responsible parties and ensure they face legal consequences.
