Ministry of Health launches seasonal influenza vaccination campaign
The Ministry of Health announced that the administration of Vaxigrip TIV seasonal influenza vaccines began on Monday, November 2, 2026. Citizens are advised to contact their personal physicians to schedule their vaccination appointments, as the shots are being distributed through the primary healthcare network.
All individuals over the age of six months are eligible to receive the Vaxigrip TIV vaccine. However, the authorities are prioritizing vulnerable populations and high-risk groups, with a specific emphasis on individuals over the age of 60 who face a greater threat of severe complications from the flu. In addition to this rollout, the vaccination program using the Efluelda vaccine continues to be available for those over 60 years old.
Health officials emphasize that timely vaccination is essential for reducing the risk of severe illness and potential hospitalizations caused by seasonal influenza. Citizens in high-risk categories are strongly encouraged to coordinate with their doctors promptly to ensure they receive protection during the current season.
