Cyprus announces new housing project and upcoming U.S. investment mission
President Nikos Christodoulides announced a government-led initiative to construct 460 homes on state land in partnership with the private sector. The project, which involves an investment exceeding €70 million, is part of a broader housing policy framework with total allocations surpassing €300 million. Speaking at the General Meeting of the Association of Large Developments in Nicosia on November 2, 2026, the President highlighted that these efforts aim to provide affordable housing for youth and families through planning incentives, building density allowances, and enhanced public-private cooperation.
In addition to domestic housing policies, President Christodoulides confirmed he will lead a business mission to the United States at the end of November 2026. The trip, coordinated with the U.S. government, seeks to capitalize on growing interest from American corporations in Cyprus. The administration emphasized that attracting high-quality investments remains a strategic priority, alongside efforts to simplify licensing procedures and digitize administrative services to support strategic business operations in the country.
