Europa Donna Cyprus holds meeting with Welfare Benefits Management Service
On November 2, 2026, representatives from Europa Donna Cyprus met with the Head of the Welfare Benefits Management Service (YDEP), Ioannis Vassiliadis, to discuss improving support for cancer patients. The meeting focused on accelerating the processing of benefit applications and the implementation of a previously announced monthly allowance for economically vulnerable cancer patients.
The delegation, led by Europa Donna Cyprus President Olga Papadimitriou, emphasized the need for more efficient procedures. The discussions included proposals for faster processing times and the potential for pre-approval of benefits for patients facing urgent financial or social crises. The existing collaboration through the "Endynamono" (Empowerment) program, supported by the association’s social worker, was highlighted as a foundational element for this increased cooperation.
The meeting aimed to streamline the support system for patients undergoing treatment who struggle with financial burdens. Both parties underscored their commitment to strengthening administrative ties to ensure that vulnerable patients receive necessary financial aid in a timely manner.
