Ministry responds to concerns over Pentakomo technology park progress
The Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry of Cyprus stated on November 2, 2026, that the development of the Scientific and Technological Park in Pentakomo remains a government priority. This response follows an announcement made last Friday by the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EVEL), which expressed growing concern over the project's stagnation and a lack of transparency regarding the selection process for a strategic investor.
In its latest statement, the Ministry emphasized that the search for a strategic investor is actively underway and is being conducted in full compliance with current legislation and public procurement frameworks. The government aims to attract quality investments, boost research and innovation, and generate new employment opportunities through this facility. The Ministry reassured that the process adheres to strict principles of transparency, equal treatment, and the protection of public interests.
While the Limassol business community has signaled frustration regarding delays and insufficient updates, the government continues to move forward with the necessary legal actions to finalize the project. Future developments will be governed by the established regulatory procedures for public contracts as the authorities work toward selecting a partner for the site.
