Nearly 400 migrants rescued today in the Mediterranean off the Canary Islands

Spanish authorities rescued nearly 400 migrants in two separate operations off the Canary Islands today. Tragically, seven individuals lost their lives after smugglers allegedly threw them into the sea. These operations follow yesterday's rescue of over 100 people, prompting the president of the Canary Islands to highlight the ongoing lethal dangers of this Atlantic migration route.
