Nicosia launches annual child jacket donation campaign

The Municipality of Nicosia, in collaboration with the Alkinoos Artemiou Foundation, has launched the annual "No Child Without a Jacket" campaign. Running from November 4 to November 14, 2026, the initiative aims to collect children's jackets in good condition to provide warmth to families in need during the winter season.

Donations are being accepted at specific collection points, including a designated area outside the Vienna Bakery on Kyrenia Avenue in Platy Aglantzia, open daily from 09:00 to 17:00. Additionally, contributions can be made at the Municipal Service Offices in the districts of Aglantzia, Agios Dometios, and Engomi during working hours from 08:00 to 15:00. Sources vary slightly regarding the inaugural context, with reports noting it is either the fifth or sixth consecutive year for the initiative, which was originally spearheaded by former Aglantzia Mayor and current Nicosia MP Andreas Konstantinou.

Once the collection period concludes, the organizers will announce a distribution point where families in need can collect the jackets. Any remaining items will be distributed to support vulnerable households, ensuring that donated clothing reaches those requiring assistance.
