Nicosia Municipality launches winter jacket drive for children in need

The Nicosia Municipality, in collaboration with the Alkinoos Artemiou Foundation, has announced a charitable campaign titled "No Child Without a Jacket." Running from November 4 to November 14, 2026, the initiative aims to collect gently used children's jackets to provide warmth and support to families facing financial difficulties.

Donations can be dropped off at two primary locations in Nicosia. Items will be collected at a specially designated area outside the Vienna Bakery on Kyrenias Avenue in the Aglantzia Municipal District, operating daily from 09:00 to 17:00. Additionally, contributions are accepted at the Nicosia Municipality Citizen Service Offices during regular working hours, from 08:00 to 15:00. Officials have emphasized the importance of community solidarity, noting that donated items will directly assist local children.

Once the collection period concludes, the municipality will announce a specific location where families in need can collect the jackets. Any remaining garments will be distributed to other families requiring support. Organizers encourage all citizens to participate in this effort to ensure children remain warm during the upcoming winter season.
