Marko Nikolic named top coach of the 2025-26 Stoiximan Super League season
Serbian manager Marko Nikolic has been officially awarded the title of coach of the 2025-26 season in the Stoiximan Super League. The recognition was bestowed by the Panhellenic Professional Footballers Association (PSAPP) during a recent formal ceremony, honoring his successful campaign leading AEK to the top of the league table last season.
The 47-year-old manager accepted the award alongside the other two finalists in the category, Christos Kontis, who managed Panathinaikos and OFI, and Nikos Papadopoulos of Levadiakos. During his acceptance speech, Nikolic dedicated the trophy to his players, his coaching staff, the club’s leadership, and the AEK fanbase, noting that he considers the accolade particularly significant because it reflects the professional judgment of his peers and opposing players.
This award marks a significant milestone in Nikolic's tenure at AEK, highlighting the strategic turnaround he implemented during the 2025-26 season. The recognition reflects his team's dominant performance that secured the championship title, cementing his status as one of the most influential tacticians currently active in the Greek professional league.
