Multinational Force for Ukraine to conduct major military exercise in Poland
From November 9 to November 22, 2026, the Multinational Force for Ukraine (MNF-U) will conduct its first major field training exercise in Poland, titled 'Koalicja'. The exercise will involve approximately 2,800 military personnel from ten nations, including Belgium, Britain, France, Germany, Estonia, Spain, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, and Sweden.
The exercise is designed to test the ability of these allied units to deploy and operate effectively in the field. This testing phase is part of the broader preparation of the MNF-U, which was established in March 2025 and reached operational status in the summer of 2026. The training aims to ensure the force's readiness for potential future deployments.
The MNF-U was created to assist Ukraine following a potential ceasefire agreement, with its primary objective being the prevention of future Russian aggression. While the force is officially operational, this upcoming exercise marks the first practical assessment of its maneuverability and coordination capabilities on Polish territory, as announced in a joint statement from London and Paris.
