Eleven cosmetic products withdrawn from the European market
Between October 26 and November 1, 2026, the European Rapid Exchange of Information System (SAFETY GATE) identified and initiated the withdrawal of 11 cosmetic products found to be unsuitable for consumer use. Authorities have emphasized that these products posed potential risks to safety, though specific details regarding their countries of origin remain unclear.
Following the notification, the Cyprus Pharmaceutical Services and the Consumer Protection Service have issued an urgent advisory. The government is currently conducting inspections to determine if any of these products are present within the local Cypriot market. Consumers who have purchased these items are advised to immediately discontinue their use.
In case citizens locate any of the affected products in retail outlets, they are requested to contact the Pharmaceutical Services directly at 22608606, 22608682, or 22608689 to facilitate removal. Further technical specifications regarding the batch numbers and product identities are available in the Consumer Protection Service Bulletin 43/2026. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to monitor the distribution network to prevent further sales.
