Large-scale drone attack on Moscow reported
Between the evening of November 2 and the morning of November 3, 2026, Russian air defense systems intercepted 493 Ukrainian drones heading toward the Moscow region. According to Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, who announced the figures via Telegram, the incident occurred between 20:30 on November 2 and 07:30 on November 3. While the majority of the unmanned aerial vehicles were neutralized in remote areas by the Ministry of Defense, 187 drones were destroyed as they approached the capital.
The massive wave of attacks coincides with critical midterm elections taking place in the United States, which are considered pivotal for the administration of President Donald Trump. Trump has recently demanded that both warring parties cease mutual strikes against energy infrastructure, citing the instability caused by the ongoing conflict. No information regarding casualties or specific structural damage from this latest incident has been provided by authorities thus far, though air defense activities remain at a high state of readiness in the capital region.
