Police search for woman after fraud against man with disability in Larnaca
Cypriot authorities in Larnaca are investigating an incident of fraud targeting a 46-year-old man with a learning disability. On October 31, 2026, two women approached the victim outside his home in the village of Livadia and requested five euros. When the man stated he had no cash, the suspects convinced him to accompany them to an ATM under the pretense of withdrawing only the requested five euros. Once at the bank machine, the women reportedly extracted 800 euros from his account before fleeing the scene.
The victim's 70-year-old father reported the incident to the Oroklini police station the following day. While most sources confirm the sum stolen was 800 euros, one report suggests the amount was closer to 1,000 euros. Police have not yet identified the suspects but have released a photograph of one of the women to the public to assist with the investigation.
The suspects are wanted for conspiracy to commit a felony, obtaining goods by false pretenses, and fraud. Law enforcement officials have requested that anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the pictured individual contact the Oroklini police station, any local station, or the national citizen’s line.
