Bahceli rejects fait accompli in the Eastern Mediterranean and criticizes Greece and Cyprus

Devlet Bahceli, leader of Turkey's Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), recently praised the Libyan parliament's approval of the Turkish-Libyan maritime border memorandum. He emphasized that Ankara will reject any fait accompli in the Eastern Mediterranean and defended the agreement against criticism from Greece, Cyprus, Israel, and the EU. Bahceli argued that Turkey is not obligated to follow the demands of third parties and asserted that strengthening ties with Tripoli is a sovereign right despite international opposition.
