George Perris to represent Cyprus at Eurovision 2027
The Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC) officially announced on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, that artist George Perris will represent Cyprus at the 71st Eurovision Song Contest. The reveal was made during the morning show 'Omorfi Mera', following the conclusion of an internal evaluation process conducted by a five-member committee of the public broadcaster, which reviewed proposals from major record labels in Greece and Cyprus.
The 71st Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to take place in Burgas, Bulgaria, at the Arena Burgas. The competition will consist of three live shows: the first semi-final on Tuesday, May 11, the second semi-final on Thursday, May 13, and the grand final on Saturday, May 15, 2027. This decision follows Bulgaria's victory in the previous contest.
With the artist now confirmed, the focus shifts to the selection of the song. Composers and lyricists have been invited to submit their proposals by December 13, 2026. Further details regarding the track and the accompanying stage team are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, as Cyprus becomes the first country to officially name its representative for the 2027 competition.
