University of Cyprus launches first English-language undergraduate programs
On November 3, 2026, the University of Cyprus held a press conference to officially unveil its first five English-language undergraduate degree programs. The initiative, part of the institution's 2026–2031 Strategic Plan, marks a significant step toward internationalization after more than a decade of discussions and legislative developments. The programs are self-funded and open to both domestic and international students, with admissions currently ongoing for the inaugural academic year starting in September 2027.
The new curricula cover Medicine, Business Administration (Accounting/Finance or Marketing/Operations Management), Economics (Economic Theory/Econometrics or International/European Economic Studies), and a YUFE Bachelor in Urban Sustainability Studies. Annual tuition fees range from €5,300 to €25,000, with the six-year Medical degree representing the highest cost. The YUFE program is a three-year collaborative degree involving multiple European universities. Applicants can submit their candidacy through the YUFE Virtual Campus. Academic officials, including Vice Rector Tatiana-Eleni Synodinou, noted that the medical program is fully certified by the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency (DIPAE) and adheres to World Federation for Medical Education standards. The university aims to attract global talent while offering local students the opportunity to study in English without leaving Cyprus.
