Omonia Nicosia faces Nijmegen in Europa League clash

Omonia Nicosia travels to the Netherlands to face Nijmegen at the Goffertstadion tonight, November 5, 2026, for the fourth round of the Europa League League Phase. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:45 local time. The Cypriot team, currently holding six points from three matches, aims to secure a positive result to bolster its qualification chances, while Nijmegen enters the match with four points. Head coach Henning Berg has traveled with 21 players, facing several absences including injured athletes and those ineligible for European competition, such as Akintola and Odubajo.

The historical backdrop of the matchup highlights Omonia's challenging record against Dutch opponents, having lost all three of their previous visits to the Netherlands. Financially, there is a significant disparity, with Nijmegen's squad value estimated at 58 million euros compared to Omonia’s 21 million euros. A victory for the Cypriot side would earn the club a 450,000 euro performance bonus. Approximately 600 Omonia supporters have made the trip to the oldest city in the Netherlands to provide support at the stadium.
