Unsettled weather and temperature drop expected in Cyprus
A weak low-pressure system is currently affecting Cyprus, bringing unstable weather conditions that are expected to intensify by Friday, November 6, 2026. The forecast indicates that cloud cover will increase throughout the island, leading to local showers and isolated thunderstorms, particularly in mountainous areas, the interior, and the northern and eastern regions. There is also a notable possibility of hail accompanying the storms.
Temperatures are expected to see a gradual decline, falling below the average climatological values for the season by Sunday. Highs are projected to reach approximately 23-24°C in the interior and along the coasts, while dropping to about 14°C in higher mountainous areas. Nighttime temperatures will descend to around 12-13°C inland and as low as 6-7°C in the mountains.
Winds will primarily blow from the southwest to northwest, generally light to moderate at force 3-4 on the Beaufort scale, though they may temporarily intensify to force 5-6 during storm events. The sea conditions are expected to remain slight to locally rough. Authorities continue to monitor the development of these weather patterns, advising residents to remain cautious as the instability persists through the coming days.
