Foreign skateboarders cause damage to public spaces in Paphos
On November 4, 2026, the acting mayor of Paphos, Angelos Onisiforou, reported that a group of approximately 12 adults from abroad caused damage to four different public locations in the city while performing skateboard tricks.
Despite repeated warnings from municipal officials and assurances from the group that they would stop, the individuals continued their activities by moving to different parts of the city. As a consequence, the municipality has provided the police with photographic and video evidence documenting the incident to support an investigation. Onisiforou emphasized that public spaces are municipal property and that visitors are expected to respect local infrastructure, regardless of their origin.
The municipality is currently seeking accountability from those involved. The case is now in the hands of the authorities, who possess the documentation required to identify the perpetrators and address the damage caused to the city's infrastructure.
