PAUL bakery and patisserie opens at Famagusta Gate in Nicosia

The French bakery and patisserie brand PAUL officially opened its new location at the historic Famagusta Gate in Nicosia on Monday, November 2, 2026. The venue is situated within a space noted for its stone arches, a lush courtyard, and a prominent bougainvillea, aiming to rejuvenate a symbolic area of the old city.

The official inauguration ceremony was led by the Mayor of Nicosia, Charalambos Prountzos, who was joined by representatives from the local business community, media, and various social sectors. During his address, Mayor Prountzos expressed that the opening represents a successful effort to restore life to a site that historically served as a central meeting point for residents. The project was executed in collaboration with the PHC Group, with the Mayor acknowledging the investment as a sign of the city’s ongoing urban transformation and outward-looking development.
