Pafos FC faces FC Twente in Conference League match

Pafos FC is preparing for a challenging encounter against Dutch club FC Twente in the third round of the UEFA Conference League's League Phase. The match is scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 22:00 at the De Grolsch Veste stadium in the Netherlands.

Pafos head coach Ricardo Sa Pinto acknowledged that the hosts are the favorites given their current form and standing in the Dutch league. The Cypriot team, currently 27th in the Conference League standings with only one point from their previous two matches, faces significant adversity as they deal with an injury-depleted squad. Key players including Goldar, Ngamaleu, Pepe, and Biel did not travel with the team, while Mammadov, Zague, Noro, and Patrao were omitted from the official European squad list. Sa Pinto has expressed that a draw would be considered a positive result under the circumstances.

The team enters this match following a difficult period characterized by a decline in domestic and European performance, including a previous defeat to Atalanta. Despite the lack of pressure from expectations, the club is seeking an upset to improve its standing in the European competition, while continuing to manage a demanding match schedule.
