Pafos FC faces Twente in Conference League match
On November 5, 2026, Pafos FC plays an away match against the Dutch club Twente at the De Grolsch Veste stadium in Enschede, as part of the third round of the Conference League League Phase. Pafos enters the encounter with one point from two matches, following a 3-1 loss to Atalanta and a 1-1 draw against Riga, placing the team 27th in the standings. Twente, currently in good form, sits in 6th place.
Manager Ricardo Sa Pinto faces significant challenges, including a winless streak in the last five matches across all competitions. The team is managing multiple injury-related absences; Goldar, Ngamaleu, Pepe, and Biel were excluded from the squad. Additionally, Mammadov, Jague, Noro, and Patrao were omitted from the club's European list. Despite being considered the underdog, Sa Pinto has publicly emphasized that a draw would be a positive result for the team.
The match, scheduled for 22:00, is viewed as a crucial test for the Cypriot team to regain momentum. Media reports confirm the starting lineups, with Mayeski in goal and players like Luis, Dragomir, and Lele taking the field for Pafos. Both sides concluded their preparations on the eve of the match, with local Dutch analysts noting the tactical pragmatism of the visiting Cypriot side.
