Trial begins for two men accused of sexually assaulting a minor on a UK train
The trial of two men, 25-year-old Baryalai Rahimi and 29-year-old Mirbandurahman Sadat, has commenced at the Inner London Crown Court. The defendants face a total of 20 charges, including rape and sexual assault, following an incident on February 5 involving a 14-year-old girl with autism. Prosecutors allege that the two men spotted the victim at a railway station in Kent and followed her onto a London-bound Southeastern train.
During the proceedings, jurors viewed a pre-recorded police interview where the victim described being led to the train toilet by Rahimi. She alleges that Rahimi sexually assaulted her three times, while Sadat allegedly assaulted her twice. The victim testified that passengers in the carriage remained indifferent, focusing on their mobile phones while the abuse occurred. She also noted that when she informed Rahimi of her age, he laughed. Surveillance footage presented in court corroborated her description of being led to the restroom. The trial continues as the court examines evidence and testimony regarding the events of that day.
