Road maintenance and closures scheduled in Nicosia and Limassol
Cypriot authorities have announced extensive road maintenance and infrastructure upgrades across Nicosia and Limassol, resulting in various traffic diversions and temporary road closures throughout November 2026. In Nicosia, the Municipality will conduct asphalt paving work at night from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM between November 10 and 18. Affected routes include Michalakis Karaolis Street, Grivas Digenis Avenue, and Spyros Kyprianou Avenue, necessitating total closures during these hours to minimize public disruption.
Simultaneously, the Limassol Municipality has scheduled surface maintenance on Riga Fereou Street for the weekend of November 7 and 8. The road will be closed to traffic from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on both days, affecting different sections each day. Additionally, the Department of Forests and the Public Works Department are continuing long-term maintenance projects, including plant watering on the Limassol-Nicosia highway and sign replacement on the Xylofagou to Ayia Napa motorway section, which will continue through December 31.
Drivers are advised to exercise caution, observe temporary signage, and follow police instructions to ensure safety during the construction period. Motorists should plan their routes in advance to avoid significant delays caused by these scheduled infrastructure improvements.
