Start of the 56th Allwyn men's volleyball championship
The 56th Allwyn Men's Volleyball Championship has officially commenced in Cyprus, featuring upgraded production and a record-high competitive profile. The opening round included a high-stakes match between the defending champions Kuutio Homes Pafiakos and Anorthosis Famagusta. Pafiakos secured a 3-0 victory (25-17, 25-23, 25-21) on November 6, following a closely contested match where the home team staged a notable 7-0 run in the second set to overcome a deficit.
Simultaneously, the Allwyn B’ Division began on November 7 with an innovative format. This season, the division incorporates seven under-18 teams from the A’ Division alongside Ethnikos Latsion, Olympiada Frenarous, and AO Dionysos. This structure aims to provide younger players with significant competitive exposure against more experienced athletes through a single-round league system operating until mid-January, after which a final phase will determine the champion.
To enhance fan engagement, the Cyprus Volleyball Federation (KOPE) partnered with Unitrust Media Network to broadcast the primary match of each round on RIK 2/RIK HD and AlfaSports.tv. The tournament is expected to be one of the most competitive in recent years, with ongoing coverage scheduled for the remainder of the season.
