Greek health minister targeted by email hacking attempt
On November 6, 2026, Greek Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis announced that his email account had been compromised by unknown individuals on his birthday. The hackers used his identity to place unauthorized orders for 200 luxury vehicles, specifically 150 Porsche Cayenne and 50 Mercedes Maybach cars, as well as 24 Benelli shotguns and one Springfield Armory Echelon firearm.
In a post on the social media platform X, the minister shared screenshots of the communication where the hackers claimed to be acting on behalf of himself and his wife, Eugenia Manolidou. The perpetrators requested the immediate delivery of the vehicles, with the minister sarcastically thanking them for the unusual birthday greeting. He emphasized that he has no such personal desires for these goods.
Following the discovery of the breach, Minister Georgiadis officially contacted the Cybercrime Prosecution Unit of the Hellenic Police. He has declared his intention to pursue the matter legally to identify those responsible for the incident. The investigation is currently ongoing as the authorities work to trace the source of the unauthorized account access.
