Andreas Papandreou Air Base to host public events for Air Force Day
The Andreas Papandreou Air Base in Paphos will open its gates to the general public on November 8 and 9, 2026, to celebrate the annual Air Force Day of the Cyprus National Guard. Visitors will have the opportunity to view military aircraft, various aviation equipment, and weapons systems up close. The program includes scheduled aerial demonstrations, as well as an exhibition featuring local aviation clubs and aviation modeling enthusiasts.
The public visiting hours are set for Sunday, November 8, from 13:00 to 16:00, and Monday, November 9, from 10:00 to 16:00. This event serves as an official commemoration of the Air Force, which traces its institutional history back to the establishment of the Cyprus Air Forces in Nicosia in 1964. Following a 1976 restructuring, the force was renamed the Air Command and currently operates under the direct authority of the Chief of the National Guard.
This event is part of the annual tradition honoring the military aviation history of the country. No further administrative actions or additional public hearings regarding this event are scheduled following the two-day open house.
