Cyta and KEPA partner to provide digital skills training to older citizens
Cyta has announced a new partnership with the Cyprus Productivity Centre (KEPA), a division of the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance, to provide specialized digital training for elderly citizens. This initiative integrates practical, step-by-step educational materials on mobile phone and internet usage into existing free digital skills programs organized by KEPA throughout 2026 and 2027.
The training materials were developed by Cyta in collaboration with the CYENS Centre of Excellence under the 'Digital Inclusion' initiative. The goal is to bridge the digital divide by providing accessible guidance to individuals with limited technological experience, specifically targeting those residing in urban centers as well as rural and remote areas. The collaboration marks the transition of these materials from the development phase to large-scale implementation.
This project is one of three core actions under Cyta's Digital Inclusion umbrella, which aims to reduce digital inequality across various demographic groups. By offering structured training sessions, the partnership seeks to boost the confidence and independence of older adults when navigating modern digital tools. The programs are scheduled to continue throughout 2026 and 2027, ensuring widespread reach across the island.
