Akamas forest road closure announced for maintenance

The Department of Forests of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment has announced the temporary closure of the forest road connecting the Baths of Aphrodite to Fontana Amorosa within the Akamas National Forest Park in Cyprus. This measure is being implemented to facilitate essential road surface maintenance works.

The closure is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 9, 2026, and is expected to remain in effect until Monday, November 30, 2026. Officials have described the maintenance work as absolutely necessary for the safety and integrity of the infrastructure. The department has apologized for any inconvenience caused to the public during this period.

The Department of Forests stated that it will issue further public notifications regarding the status of the road, particularly if the work is completed ahead of the projected timeline or if the closure duration needs to be extended. Visitors to the Akamas National Forest Park are advised to plan their routes accordingly during the three-week maintenance window.
