AEK Larnaca defeats Karmiotissa 4-1 in Cyprus league match

On November 6, 2026, AEK Larnaca secured a 4-1 victory against Karmiotissa at the AEK Arena. Despite the lopsided final score, Karmiotissa coach Alexis Garpozis stated that the result did not reflect the actual performance of his team, noting that his squad managed to hold off AEK effectively until the 41st minute.

Garpozis characterized the second half as his team's best performance of the current season in terms of ball possession and pressure. Karmiotissa managed to reduce the deficit during the second half, but the tactical necessity to take risks while chasing the game left defensive gaps that AEK exploited to score two additional goals. The coach admitted that his team lacks the squad depth required to maintain high intensity across a demanding schedule of three matches in a single week, attributing part of the loss to AEK's superior quality.

The match concluded a busy week for Karmiotissa, which had played three games in rapid succession. Garpozis expressed overall satisfaction with his players' efforts despite the defeat, while acknowledging the inherent limitations of his roster against a stronger opponent.
