Omonia Aradippou parts ways with coach Giannos Okkas

Omonia Aradippou has officially announced the mutual termination of its contract with head coach Giannos Okkas. The decision follows a critical 3-2 defeat against Nea Salamina during the 9th matchday of the Cyprus league, a game in which Omonia had held a 2-0 lead before succumbing to a second-half comeback by the opponent. Immediately following the match on November 6, 2026, Okkas attributed the collapse to an unjustified panic within the squad.

This coaching change comes as a consequence of a prolonged period of poor performance. Omonia Aradippou is currently experiencing a slump of five consecutive defeats and has failed to secure a victory since the second matchday of the season when they beat Krasava ENY. These results have left the team in a precarious position, sitting in 12th place in the league table within the relegation zone with only six total points. The club issued an official statement expressing gratitude to Okkas for his contributions and professional cooperation.

The club management has now moved to restructure the technical leadership to reverse the current downward trajectory. No immediate replacement for Okkas has been named by the organization as of November 7, 2026.
