Fugitive arrested in Athens for 2020 Loutraki double homicide
Greek police have arrested a 48-year-old Albanian national in the Patisia neighborhood of Athens on charges related to a double homicide committed in Loutraki in 2020. The suspect, who had been evading authorities for six years, was apprehended on November 6, 2026.
Known as the "Fantomas" for his long-term success in avoiding capture, the man had been living in Athens using falsified identity documents. Police investigations uncovered that, in addition to the past crimes, the suspect was actively planning a new attack at the time of his arrest. Authorities intervened to prevent the new criminal act, ending the suspect's period as a fugitive.
The individual is now in police custody and is currently awaiting further legal proceedings to address the cold case of the 2020 murders. No further details regarding his upcoming court appearance or formal charges have been released at this stage.
