Cyprus government invests over 300 million euros in housing initiatives
Over the past three years, the Cypriot government has invested more than 300 million euros into various housing measures and support schemes. According to Minister of the Interior Constantinos Ioannou, these policies are designed to enhance the disposable income of citizens and broaden housing options for young people, families, and those with low to middle incomes.
A central component of this strategy is the assistance scheme for young individuals and families under the age of 41. Through this initiative, 26 million euros have been distributed to 700 beneficiaries. Furthermore, the government has introduced a new plan for the allocation of state-owned plots, allowing eligible families to acquire land at 25 percent of its general valuation, with a specific focus on supporting low and middle-income households.
The government states that the primary objective of these interventions is to improve the quality of daily life and provide greater economic security for residents. These measures represent a broader effort to address ongoing housing challenges across the country through fiscal support and expanded property accessibility.
