Pro Wrestling Cyprus to host Wrath of Athena event in Strovolos

Pro Wrestling Cyprus (PWC) is set to host its 'Wrath of Athena' event this Saturday at the Stavrou Gymnasium in Strovolos, Nicosia. The event, which is part of the local municipality's official calendar, runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and aims to expand the footprint of professional wrestling, a niche sport currently involving approximately 50 active participants on the island.

The card features two championship bouts: LA Taylor will defend her PWC Ladies Championship against former titleholder Melissa Fierce in a 'Tables Match,' while Rocco Garzya, known as the 'Supreme Leader,' defends his PWC Championship against Daz Black. Garzya will compete without his faction, The Lion’s Pride, as they are banned from ringside for the match. Additionally, the event includes a matchup between Donny Ravarro and Hunter Maul. Ticket prices range from 16.50 euros for general admission to 52 euros for VIP seating.

While distinct from Olympic wrestling, the event emphasizes the scripted nature of professional wrestling combined with high-impact athletic performance. Organizers are positioning the show to appeal to both long-time fans and families attending their first live wrestling experience, marking a continued effort to grow the professional wrestling scene in Cyprus.
