Sevilla and Alaves draw in La Liga opener

The 12th round of La Liga kicked off on November 6, 2026, with a scoreless draw between Sevilla and Alaves at the Sanchez Pizjuan stadium. Despite Sevilla dominating much of the match, the hosts were unable to capitalize on their chances. The most significant opportunity occurred in the 32nd minute, but Vargas failed to convert a penalty kick against Alaves goalkeeper Antonio Sivera.

Following this result, Sevilla remains in 6th place in the league table with 18 points, missing a chance to move into the top five. Alaves, which has now gone eight consecutive matches without a win, holds 13 points and sits in 9th place. Goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos started for Sevilla and faced little pressure throughout the game. The round continues throughout the weekend with several matches, including the notable clash between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona on November 8.
