Cyprus cultural weekend highlights theatre performances

Cyprus hosts a diverse cultural program this Saturday, featuring the 18th International Symposium of Ancient Greek Drama, various art exhibitions, and music concerts across the country. A major highlight is the staging of Peter Morgan’s political drama 'Frost/Nixon' by the Cyprus Theatre Organisation (THOC) at the New Stage in Nicosia. Directed by Andreas Araouzos, the play depicts the post-Watergate interviews between David Frost and Richard Nixon, with Varnavas Kyriazis cast as the former U.S. president and Giorgos Anagiotos as the broadcaster.

Following its run in Nicosia, the play will tour several cities: Sotira (December 9), Larnaca (December 11), Limassol (December 17), and Paphos (December 18), all at 8:30 p.m. Regular performances in Nicosia take place on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 6:00 p.m. Additionally, the Satirical Theatre in Nicosia is premiering the comedy 'The Lie' by Florian Zeller, directed by Marianna Kafkaridou, which explores the complex dynamics of a dinner between two couples.
