Fatal traffic accident in Limassol leaves 55-year-old man dead
On November 7, 2026, at approximately 11:50 a.m., a 55-year-old man died following a traffic accident on Agias Marinas Street in Pyrgos, Limassol. According to police reports, the man was driving when his vehicle deviated to the left and collided with a CYTA wooden utility pole, causing the car to come to a halt. Emergency responders transported the victim to a private hospital in Limassol, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 2:00 p.m.
Authorities, including members of the Limassol Traffic Department and the Moni Police Station, investigated the scene. Initial examinations revealed that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. While the accident resulted in significant impact, investigators have not ruled out the possibility that the death was caused by underlying pathological issues rather than the crash itself.
A formal autopsy will be conducted at a later date to determine the exact cause of death. The Limassol Traffic Department, in coordination with the Moni Police Station, continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
