Fatal road accident in Limassol results in one death
A fatal traffic accident occurred on November 7, 2026, in the village of Pyrgos, Limassol district, resulting in the death of a driver. Around 11:50 a.m., the victim was driving along Agias Marinas Street when his vehicle veered to the left and collided with a wooden Cyta utility pole. Following the impact, the driver was transported to a private hospital in Limassol, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 2:00 p.m. despite medical efforts.
Authorities, including members of the Limassol traffic police and the Moni police station, examined the scene. Initial investigations indicate that the victim was not wearing a seatbelt. While most sources identify the victim as a 55-year-old man, AlphaNews specifically identifies the deceased as 51-year-old Agathoklis Agathokleous. Investigators have stated that they cannot currently rule out the possibility that the death was caused by underlying health conditions rather than the impact itself.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled for a later date to determine the precise cause of death. Limassol traffic police and the Moni police station are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
