Cyprus police honor citizens for contributions to public safety
The Cyprus Police recently held two separate ceremonies to recognize citizens, volunteers, and state officials for their contributions to public safety and cooperation with law enforcement agencies.
On November 5, 2026, the Limassol Police Division honored several individuals for their support in emergency incidents occurring between 2023 and 2026. These contributions included search and rescue operations for missing persons, assistance during natural disasters such as forest fires, and the evacuation of residential areas. Separately, on November 6, 2026, the Paphos Police Division awarded six citizens who were selected by a permanent evaluation board. These individuals received commemorative plaques and certificates of appreciation for their significant actions that aided police work over the past three years.
These initiatives highlight the growing importance of the partnership between local authorities and the public. By recognizing social responsibility and proactive citizenship, the police aim to strengthen communal safety and encourage continued civilian cooperation during crises.
