75-year-old woman dies after falling into ravine in Morphou district

A 75-year-old woman, identified as Militsa Fanti from Nicosia, died on Saturday afternoon following a fatal accident in the Morphou district. The incident occurred around 3:50 p.m. while the woman was visiting a village in the area with a relative to pick mushrooms.

Under circumstances currently being investigated by local authorities, Fanti fell into a ravine and sustained a severe head injury. She was immediately transported by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital, but despite the efforts of the medical staff, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.

The investigation into the exact causes of the tragedy is being conducted by the Kampos Police Station. No further details regarding the conditions of the fall have been released as authorities continue their inquiries into the circumstances of the event.
