APOEL Nicosia celebrates its centenary with grand event at GSP stadium
APOEL Nicosia marked its 100th anniversary on November 8, 2026, with a series of commemorative events at a sold-out GSP stadium during and after their match against Aris. The celebration featured elaborate tifo displays, including a "100 years" formation and an imagery of Archangel Michael. In a nod to the club's founding year, 1926, fans ignited flares at the 26th minute, creating an intense atmosphere.
Following the match, the club hosted a gala ceremony attended by approximately 20,000 supporters. President Charis Fotiou led a symbolic moment where the audience recited the Greek national anthem. The event honored club legends, including the late Ian Moores and Nuno Morais, with their families receiving commemorative plaques. Former striker Giannos Ioannou was also recognized. The festivities concluded with a state-of-the-art drone show featuring 500 devices, which projected the club's history, emblems, and trophies into the night sky, symbolizing the transition from the past to the future of the organization.
