Pelendri square redevelopment project moves to tender evaluation stage
The Minister of Interior, Konstantinos Ioannou, announced on November 8, 2026, that the project for the redevelopment of the square in the village of Pelendri has entered the tender evaluation stage. This follows a re-tendering process aimed at revitalizing the community's infrastructure.
During his address at the Zivania Festival in Pelendri, Minister Ioannou highlighted the government's broader commitment to investing €3.5 billion in community development projects across Cyprus, supported by European funds. He confirmed that the Department of Town Planning and Housing is currently reviewing the submitted bids to ensure the project can proceed as quickly as possible. In addition to the main square, the government is collaborating with the Limassol District Administration on smaller development initiatives, including ongoing road improvements such as the upgrades on the Pelendri-Amiantos route.
The current status involves the formal evaluation of the bids by the Department of Town Planning. The project is part of a larger, systemic effort to upgrade rural living standards and improve daily life for residents through localized infrastructure development.
