Police investigate violent home invasions in Nicosia
Nicosia police are investigating two separate violent incidents involving home invasions that occurred on November 6 and November 7, 2026. In the first incident, on the night of November 7, a group of more than ten individuals forced entry into a residence in Strovolos, attacking three Indian national tenants aged 22, 24, and 25. The assailants stole mobile phones and an undisclosed amount of cash. Two of the victims were treated at Nicosia General Hospital for their injuries. One of the stolen phones was later recovered in a nearby field, and the Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department is currently working to identify the suspects, who reportedly spoke Greek and English.
Separately, authorities arrested two 20-year-old suspects regarding a violent home invasion that took place shortly after midnight on November 6. In this instance, four hooded individuals armed with offensive weapons broke into a 32-year-old man's home, damaged property, and threw objects at the victim. The Nicosia District Court has remanded the two arrested suspects in custody for eight days as the investigation continues.
