Cyprus Police announce leadership transfers following recent promotions

On Tuesday, the Chief of Police in Cyprus announced a series of transfers affecting over 30 personnel, including 28 officers and 5 sergeants and constables. The reshuffle follows recent promotions and impacts various departments, regional directorates, and political security details. Ioannis Kapnoullas has been confirmed as the Police Director of Larnaca, while Marios Neofytou has been appointed as the Police Director of Morphou. Panagiotis Kalogirou, the former director of Morphou, has been moved to lead the Criminal Investigation Department. Additionally, Christos Kyriakidis was named commander of the Aerial Operations Unit, and Zacharias Michail has been appointed as the Deputy Commander of the Aliens and Immigration Unit. Mamas Evangelou will replace Michail in his previous role. Further changes include new appointments for the security detail of the EDEK party leader, as well as shifts within the Emergency Response Unit (MMAD) and regional stations.
