Cyprus weather forecast and seasonal climate outlook
Seasonal low pressure is affecting Cyprus, bringing mostly clear skies with increased afternoon cloud cover and a possibility of isolated rain or storms, primarily in mountainous regions. Daytime temperatures are expected to reach 35°C inland, 29-32°C on the coasts, and around 23°C in the higher mountains, while overnight lows will range between 14°C and 21°C. Winds will generally be light to moderate, occasionally reaching force 5 on windward coasts. From Monday through Tuesday, isolated showers and storms are expected to persist, followed by a clearer, warmer trend starting Wednesday. Meteorological official Andreas Chrysanthou confirmed that these summer showers are a typical seasonal phenomenon and not linked to climate change, noting that atmospheric instability usually lasts until mid-July. June is expected to conclude with temperatures slightly above the seasonal average of 33-34°C. Authorities have issued a warning regarding a very high risk of fire in all forest areas.
